Dosage
Vitamin D3 + K2 + MCT Oil
Take 1 ml daily, preferably with a fat-rich meal to optimize absorption. It can be mixed with water, juice, or smoothies. If fasting, it can be taken without breaking it.
Vitamin K2 (MK-7) may interfere with anticoagulant medications such as warfarin (Coumadin), as it plays a role in blood clot regulation.
It is recommended to consult a doctor before taking this supplement if you are undergoing anticoagulant treatment..
Contraindications
Hypercalcemia (elevated calcium levels in the blood)
Vitamin D3 enhances calcium absorption, which could lead to hypercalcemia in individuals with kidney disease, hyperparathyroidism, or already high calcium levels.
Symptoms of hypercalcemia: Nausea, vomiting, weakness, confusion, cardiac arrhythmias.
Chronic kidney disease
People with kidney failure may have difficulty regulating calcium and phosphorus levels, so they should use vitamin D supplements with caution.
Digestive disorders or liver issues
MCT Oil (medium-chain triglycerides) may cause gastrointestinal discomfort in some individuals, especially at high doses (diarrhea, bloating, stomach cramps).
Individuals with liver conditions should consult a doctor before use, as MCT oil is metabolized in the liver.
Allergies or Intolerances
Some formulations may contain additional ingredients such as coconut or soy oil, which can be problematic for individuals allergic to these compounds.
Possible side effects
- If you are already taking a multivitamin containing Vitamin D or K, there may be a risk of overdose.
- Osteoporosis medications such as bisphosphonates may interact with Vitamin D.
- Corticosteroids like prednisone can reduce Vitamin D absorption.
